What is a netti-pot?

A netti-pot or nose bidet is a device used to clean the sinus cavities.

A netti-pot can come in many differnet shapes and is usually filled with a warm saline (salt-water) solution. The spout is inserted into one nostril and tipped upwards, allowing the solution to run in the one nostril, through your sinus cavities and come out the other nostril containing any infected mucus.

Some people find that using the netti-pot makes them feel as if they have accidentally inhaled water while swimming.

Is the netti-pot effective?

Yes, the netti pot is effective but only gives short-term relief to the person. The objective is to use it often, to wash irritants out before they cause infections. It may help to reduce snoring, a stuffy head or mouth breathing. Chronic Sinusitis sufferers are recommended to use a netti-pot regularly to promote drainage of the sinus cavities, clear congestion and pressure in your sinuses/nasal passages and accelerate the healing process of any inflamed tissues.

What more can you do?

Our SinusWars products work well with the nasal rinse. Between the second and third week of using a SinusWars product, you should start to feel the results and eventually decrease the amount of times you use a netti-pot… SinusWars products are completely safe with NO known side effects, giving you long term relief.

It is recommended that people who use the netti-pot use saline solutions with no preservatives.

Preservatives have toxic effects and are more likely to cause addiction, damage to cilia, burning sensation in nose, blockages, stuffiness, inflammation and rebound congestion. At first, usage of nasal sprays containing cortisone, dries out the mucus membrane, however the body's natural reaction to this drying out is to produce more mucus causing a cycle of rebound congestion.

You could also make your own solution by adding a little table salt to half a glass of warm water. This is a very affordable and effective answer to your sinus problems.
